Most of them offer donors tax benefits that can be utilized through Giving Europe for cross-border giving. (Ireland, the Netherlands, and Portugal currently allow donations only within their own countries.)   <\/p><p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transnationalgiving.eu\/country-profiles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Get an overview of tax benefits in the countries of the Giving Europe network.<\/a> <\/strong><\/p><p>Slovak tax law does not provide any tax benefits to donors. However, as a nonprofit organization in the Slovak Republic, you can take advantage of tax benefits for donors from other countries through Giving Europe. <\/p><p>Since 2007, more than <strong>155.9 million<\/strong> euros have been donated through the network. In 2021, the total was more than <strong>30.6 million euros<\/strong>\u2014an increase of nearly 9% over the previous year. 10,977 donors used Giving Europe\u2019s services in 2021. As many as 95% were individual donors and 5% were corporate donors. The largest number of regular donations comes from donors in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Germany, and the largest number of regular donations is received by organizations in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and France.     <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2e2b1a6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2e2b1a6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How It Works\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1bdbc32 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1bdbc32\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>An organization or applicant that receives a financial donation from abroad should contact the Giving Europe partner in its country\u2014in Slovakia, the Carpathian Foundation\u2014via <a href=\"ge@karpatskanadacia.sk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ge@karpatskanadacia.sk<\/a>.<\/li><li>The applicant must complete the online application to be included on the list of recipients and attach the required documents. <\/li><li>The local Giving Europe partner (in our case, the Carpathian Foundation) verifies the applicant\u2019s eligibility to receive a donation through Giving Europe. If the applicant\u2019s eligibility is confirmed at the local partner level, the next step is approval by partners in the countries where the applicant has potential donors or, as the case may be, where the applicant intends to seek out donors. <\/li><li>The donor sends their donation for the recipient to the Giving Europe partner in their country, and that partner sends it to the recipient either directly or through the relevant Giving Europe partner.<\/li><li>The donor will receive a donation receipt from the relevant Giving Europe partner, which serves as proof for claiming a tax benefit under domestic law.<\/li><li>5% of the donation goes to Giving Europe\u2019s partner organizations and the Giving Europe network, which facilitate the donation. Of this amount, 2% goes to Giving Europe in the donor\u2019s country, 2% to Giving Europe in the recipient\u2019s country, and 1% to the Giving Europe network to improve the quality of its services. <\/li><li>Giving Europe cannot raise funds for you.
