Getting humanitarian aid to areas near the front line is never a given. Yet, thanks to the support of international donors, close cooperation with long-standing partners, and the bravery of our incredible volunteers, we were able to continue our missions to Ukraine. We reached even the most heavily affected regions near the borders with Russia and Belarus.
Thanks to the support from GlobalGiving (€30,000) and the contribution from the King Baudouin Foundation (€72,527.79), we were able to continue our humanitarian missions to Ukraine in recent months.
We secured the funding, while our partners from the civic association Podaj ďalej took care of procurement and logistics. From August 2024 to September 2025, we carried out 13 missions together, delivering 30 vanloads of humanitarian aid filled with non-perishable food, hygiene and medical supplies, medicines, diapers and disinfectants, IT equipment, EcoFlow power banks, and petrol and diesel generators. This essential aid was distributed to people in need – displaced families, children, mothers, seniors, persons with disabilities, as well as to hospitals, municipal offices, community centres, and temporary shelters for internally displaced persons.
Across the front lines and under rocket fire
In the autumn of 2024, we visited Odesa, Kherson, and Mykolaiv to deliver aid to our community partners, church congregations, and shelters that care for civilians living in extremely difficult conditions. We also invited Slovak journalists to join the mission so the world could witness, through their lens, that help is still urgently needed — and that eastern Slovakia has not forgotten. Humanitarian Aid for Rural Communities
In September 2025, we focused our efforts on the Chernihiv region and the city of Sumy. We delivered aid to places such as the district hospital in Ripky, a local primary school and kindergarten, an evangelical mission, the children’s hospital in Sumy, and a community warehouse.
Here too, we saw that what might seem like a “small package” can bring immense relief to local people. Especially when a power bank allows them to get through the night with a working flashlight, access to medication, or a mobile signal.
Not all missions were carried out in safe conditions. Teams that travelled to areas near the front line faced air raid sirens, shelling, and drone attacks.
Thank you for being part of this effort.
This help would not be possible without the generosity of our donors – and without the trust you, our supporters, continue to place in us. At a time when public attention toward Ukraine is fading, we carry on together with our partners. Quietly, persistently, and with humility.
