Annual Report 2024: A Reflection of Our Work

An annual report is more than just a legal obligation. It’s an opportunity to showcase to our partners, donors, supporters, and the public all that we’ve accomplished in 2024.

And we’ve achieved quite a lot.

In 2024, our support reached over 15,500 people. We distributed nearly 119,000 EUR through grant program calls, supporting active individuals across dozens of organizations and schools in eastern Slovakia. This funding enabled activities that improved living conditions and the quality of life in the region. Additionally, we awarded another 140,300 EUR in direct grant support.

Innovative Education and Creativity Development

Bringing innovation into school education was one of our key focus areas in 2024. Through grant programs and our initiatives, we enabled innovative learning in 32 primary schools, 16 secondary schools, and 12 faculties across 8 universities.

We focused on developing creativity and competencies essential for success in the 21st century, fostering understanding towards people living in generational poverty, and emphasizing the importance of early childhood care and education. We began collaborating with secondary vocational schools to better prepare students for contemporary life and work challenges. We continued to strengthen the inclusion of pupils with additional needs in kindergartens and primary schools through training attended by 162 teachers.

Our programs, MyMachine and SkillED, effectively connected education with the labor market, allowing students to develop necessary skills. The UPre Women program opens up the labor market to Roma women, bringing new opportunities for both employers and long-term unemployed women.

Collaboration is Key

We believe that collaboration is the right path to a successful, democratic, and just Slovakia. That’s why we actively developed partnerships in the key areas we focus on. We established a new initiative OdPerinky – a platform for early childhood development, where we collaborate with other experienced organizations to support early childhood development. We played a role in institutionalizing the Platform for Democracy, which actively contributes to defending the NGO sector in Slovakia. We connected NGOs from Slovakia and Hungary with partners in Ukraine, enabling the exchange of experiences and expertise to help Ukrainian organizations provide effective and long-term support to people affected by the war.

And there’s much more. You can read all about it in our 2024 Annual Report.
