“Taking care of yourself is not selfish, but responsible,” is the motto of the Magna grant program for the region. Thanks to the grant program, this year will be redistributed up to EUR 10 000 to innovative projects of non-profit organizations and active governments.
In cooperation with MAGNA, we are launching the 5th year of the Magna grant program for the region (formerly Getrag for the region).
The program aims to support projects in the Košice region that bring innovative solutions to local needs and inspire other organizations and communities in the region.
The main topics of the program are:
- Individual safety: In the spirit of the slogan “I am not afraid to live safely”, it is possible to obtain support for projects supporting the improvement of safety and safe behavior in everyday life, raising awareness about increasing safety in the home and leisure environment, but also the use of protective equipment, etc.
- Sports and a healthy lifestyle: Promoting good ideas that focus on sports or physical activities and overall healthier leisure time. Events and activities should be designed to involve not only children but also their parents or grandparents. The aim is to create a space for spending time together and thus strengthen intergenerational ties in the family and society.
Support criteria
The program will support voluntary, non-profit and public benefit projects with a long-term and demonstrable effect on communities in the Košice region.
The proposed projects should be sustainable and thus build on existing activities and results. Applicants may also propose new initiatives, provided that they meet the condition of sustainability.
Local problems and issues are best addressed in cooperation and partnerships. We will therefore give priority to projects in which at least two partner organizations from different sectors (non-profit organizations, schools, local governments) are actively involved.
The maximum grant amount for one project is EUR 3 000.
The implementation of supported projects cannot start sooner than June 1, 2020, and must end before January 31, 2021.
For each project, co-financing of at least 10% of the total project budget is required. The applicant’s or his partner’s own financial contribution to the project is required.
